Mikes interest in football goes back to the sixties as an amateur player and his passion for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
His interest in junior football was re-kindled in the mid-eighties when his son started to play as a nine-year-old, so he decided he would reform a junior football club known as Stafford Falcons with two Under 10’s teams in 1984/5.
In season 1985/86 Mike was elected as Chairman of both Stafford Falcons and a junior football league known as Rugeley and District Boys League, but soon realised the league needed a complete overall and re-branding to attract more club/teams from a wider catchment. After several years of campaigning with the County Football Association he managed to get its title changed to the Mid Staffs Junior League for season 1995/96.
Since retiring in 2012 Mike increased his footballing activities as a football league scout, following this he soon became a council member for the SFA in 2013 and was elected as Board Director in 2016. Having experienced football club management, he used his footballing knowledge to help to grow the junior game in the county.
One of Mikes greatest pleasures was working with the Stafford Falcons development groups which he still heads up today.
Without helpers and volunteers, none of this would have been possible over these thirty- four years. He has always been fortunate to have a good team around him at both club and league level, to run junior football and be compliant with all the regulations in and around children playing the beautiful game.

Secretary : Mrs Liz Green

Liz started her association with Stafford Falcons in 2002 when her son, Matthew, was invited to join a newly formed Under 11’s team. After several years on the touchline, she took on the role of Club Secretary in 2008.
As the club has grown with sixteen teams this season, so have the demands on her time. As well as affiliating the club to the Staffordshire FA and arranging insurances, an important part of her role is to ensure that the club maintains its Charter Standard Status. This rewards and recognises those clubs that maintain and raise standards throughout grassroots football, ensuring that volunteers are CRB checked and gain qualifications in coaching, emergency aid, and safeguarding children.

Bob joined Stafford Falcons in 1988 when his son started with the then Under 10’s. He took over as Manager for the 1992/93 season and followed the team through to Under 18’s when the team had to retire. The team played in the Mid Staffs Junior League, Lichfield League and County Minor and Bob teamed up with Brian Chandler [A Club Vice President] in later years.
Bob’s claim to fame is winning the championship 1n 1997/98. Once his own team had finished playing he took on the rising Under 16’s teams for a number of years in the County Minor League before retiring from team management at the end of season 2000/2001.
During this time Bob took on the role of Club Secretary in 1997, a position still held today. Bob is also the Vice Chair of Mid Staffs Junior League, Treasurer and Mini Soccer Manager.

I am the Club’s Welfare Officer, and I have also picked up the work associated with ensuring that the club is GDPR compliant. Welfare, safeguarding and GDPR are currently big issues in junior football, and therefore the Football Association require all clubs to have a nominated Welfare Officer.
I have been involved in junior football with the Falcons for nearly 10 years as both a Manager and a Coach. I currently manage the Falcons under 16’s.
Should you have a Falcons football-related welfare or safeguarding issue, please do not hesitate to contact me.
